Generalmente
aparecen anillos o manchas circulares de color verde oscuro de unos 30-40 cm
de diámetro. Se desarrolla con temperaturas suaves y humedades relativas
altas. El excesivo abonado nitrogenado y el drenaje deficiente, favorecen el
desarrollo de la enfermedad. Se controla aplicando benomilo, iprodiona,
metiltiofanato, clortalonil, etc.
8.8. Antracnosis.
El
patógeno (Colletotrichum graminícola) produce una podredumbre basal
del tallo, que inicialmente está mojada. En la superficie escespada aparecen
pequeños rodales de plantas que amarillean y luego mueren. Los síntomas
aparecen con tiempo fresco y húmedo.
Cuando
el tiempo es caluroso y húmedo y el suelo está seco, la planta suele estar
mojada y el patógeno coloniza las hojas más viejas y aparentemente acelera
su envejecimiento y el de los brote. Las hojas muertas tienen un color canela
claro a pardo.
Para
su control se aplica benomilo, iprodiona, clortalonil y asociaciones de
ditiocarbamatos.
